TactiSense: An ESP32-Based Soldier Motion Intelligence and Situational Awareness Framework Using Multi-Axis Inertial Measurement Technology

TactiSense is an intelligent wearable defense monitoring system designed to improve battlefield awareness and soldier safety through continuous motion sensing and activity analysis. The system employs an ESP32 microcontroller integrated with an MPU6500 multi-axis inertial measurement sensor to capture real-time acceleration, angular velocity, orientation, and movement data. Advanced embedded processing techniques analyze the collected data to identify various soldier activities such as walking, running, crawling, climbing, resting, and sudden impacts.

An OLED display provides live visualization of motion parameters and system status, enabling immediate situational feedback. The system is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery pack managed through a 3S Battery Management System (BMS) and regulated by a buck converter to ensure stable operation in field conditions.

TactiSense can assist military personnel and defense researchers in monitoring tactical movements, evaluating training performance, detecting falls or abnormal motion events, and enhancing overall mission awareness. The compact, low-power, and portable architecture makes it suitable for wearable deployment in defense, border security, and tactical training applications.
