RoboGuard: An Intelligent Bluetooth-Enabled Mobile Surveillance and Obstacle Detection Framework

RoboGuard is an intelligent mobile robotic platform designed to provide wireless navigation, environmental awareness, and obstacle detection capabilities through embedded sensing and control technologies. The system utilizes an Arduino Uno microcontroller as the central processing unit, receiving wireless commands from a smartphone via an HC-05 Bluetooth module. Four DC gear motors driven by an L298N motor driver enable precise movement and maneuverability across various environments.

To enhance operational safety and autonomous assistance, an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor mounted on a servo motor continuously scans the surroundings and measures distances to nearby objects. The servo-driven scanning mechanism expands the robot's field of view, allowing it to detect obstacles from multiple directions and assist in collision prevention. The entire system is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery pack with an integrated BMS (Battery Management System) for safe charging and power management.

The proposed framework combines wireless communication, intelligent sensing, and robotic mobility into a compact and cost-effective platform suitable for surveillance, security patrol, educational robotics, inspection tasks, and research applications. RoboGuard demonstrates the integration of embedded systems, sensor-based perception, and real-time robotic control to create a smart and responsive autonomous assistance platform.
