The Low-Cost Smart Lighting Automation Platform Using Ambient Light Monitoring is designed to automatically control lighting based on surrounding light conditions. The system utilizes an Arduino Uno as the central controller, an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) to continuously monitor ambient light intensity, a relay module to switch electrical loads, and an SMPS to provide stable power to the control circuitry.
During daytime, when sufficient natural light is available, the LDR detects high illumination levels and the Arduino turns OFF the connected light through the relay, reducing unnecessary energy consumption. During nighttime or low-light conditions, the system automatically activates the lighting load to ensure adequate illumination.
This project offers a cost-effective and energy-efficient solution for homes, offices, street lighting, parking areas, campuses, and industrial facilities. The automated operation minimizes human intervention, improves energy management, and extends the lifespan of lighting equipment while promoting sustainable power utilization.
